We welcome both researchers and students to access the Archive. Find out more about making an in-person appointment and our digitisation service.

Your visit

All in-person visits to the Archive must be arranged in advance. Please email info@barns-grahamtrust.org.uk to book a visit and outline the material you would like to access. We can make arrangements to view artworks from the collection alongside archive material if relevant to your research.

The archive is usually accessible Mon-Thu.

During your visit

Due to the delicate and valuable nature of the material in the archive, users should adhere to our guidelines when visiting. As well as handling the materials delicately, we ask that:

  • No food or liquid is consumed in the library and archive.
  • Pencil only to be used – no pens.

We have a shared sitting area and kitchen where users can take breaks and make refreshments during their visit.

Digitisation service

We may be able to digitise and send small quantities of information from our Archive, staff time allowing. This service is free and available to those undertaking academic research and private study.

To make a request, please email: info@barns-grahamtrust.org.uk
