Rose-Marie says ‘My work has changed quite a bit a decade later, but at the time I was particularly interested in how we contain and display water in gardens and parks as an expression of our desire for control over nature. I was able to visit and study three gardens in Tivoli which all had powerful distinct relationships with water. The drawings and sketches I made on that trip helped me create my first body of paintings as a practicing artist, just as I was finding my way with my medium and concepts. I am so grateful to the trust for enabling this very formative experience!’
