Rebecca says ‘With the funding, I was able to visit the libraries and archives I was writing about and illustrating for my MA Fine Art degree at Edinburgh College of Art. As a working-class student from Glasgow, I wouldn’t have had the means to undertake this kind of travel and exploration without the support. The grant made a real academic difference at the time—but more than that, it gave me lasting memories and stories from a summer spent discovering Europe, experiences that have stayed with me far beyond my studies. That, in itself, has been a true gift.’
