The Most Amazing Opportunity

atrica says ‘The RSA Barns-Graham Trust residency I was awarded was the most amazing opportunity to stay at Wilhelmina Barns-Graham’s house, Balmungo for a three-month period late in 2013. Walking in the 3-acre woods next to the house, working in Willie’s studio and having access to her materials, profoundly impacted my practice towards creating a deep connection with the natural world. Drawings made in a companionship with works held by the Trust, put Willie and I in dialogue, tracing the mindset of us both as we moved between representation and abstraction. My current interest in the movement and transformation contained within intuition – interfacing Art, Science and Spirituality – formed from seeds planted during the residency.’
