April says ‘This period of time was a starting point in terms of exploring Painting, abstract landscape, contemporary oil works, to a much grander scale. Moving between site and studio, the rural environment of South Lanarkshire and it’s Post-Industrial Heritage, to the built city of Glasgow, where I am now a studio resident at SWG3. I continue to make expansive canvasses, living landscapes in their own right, of gesture and colour. Pondering the transient nature of the landscapes in which we find ourselves, through body and womanhood.’
