Lynne Green studied art history at Sussex University and the Courtauld Institute.
An exhibition organiser at the Hayward Gallery, then Curator of Southampton City Art Gallery, she has been an independent critic and curator since 1995.
Lynne writes widely on modern and contemporary art. She has served on various boards within the arts, including as a Regional Council member for Arts Council England. In addition to working with and writing about artists, she is an enthusiastic collector.
The extended second edition of her W. Barns- Graham: a studio life was published in 2011.
