THE COLLECTION
Wilhelmina Barns-Graham bequeathed to the Trust a significant collection of paintings, drawings and prints. This collection will enable the Trust to present her work in a number of different contexts through exhibitions and facilitating long term loans to public galleries and museums.
The extent of the collection offers a unique opportunity for art students and art historians to come to a fuller understanding of the evolution of her art, and her contribution to 20th century British art.
The creation of a permanent collection, to be housed at Balmungo, that fully represents Wilhelmina Barns-Graham and her achievements, is being collated.
Balmungo will hold a changing programme of small displays of Barns-Graham’s work within the main ground floor reception rooms.
In addition, the Trust welcomes enquires and applications from public institutions who wish to loan works for long term display or for pictures to be included in temporary exhibitions.
